Common questions about Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance

Does Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance have a waiting period?

Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance has limited benefits during the first two years of coverage. This is sometimes described as a waiting period. However, benefits may still be payable during that time depending on the cause of death and applicable policy terms. After the limited-benefit period, the full death benefit is available for covered causes while the coverage remains in force.

How much Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance coverage can I get?

Eligible applicants can get up to $30,0001 in Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance coverage, subject to state and existing coverage limitations. For example, if you’re already insured with this Program, the full coverage amount may not be available.

Consumers who need more than the available amount may want to compare other NYLAARP life insurance options.

Who is eligible for Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance?

AARP Guaranteed Acceptance Life from New York Life Insurance Company is exclusively for AARP members ages 50–85 and their spouse or partner ages 45–85.* It’s not available to the general public.

Do I need a medical exam or answer health questions for Guaranteed Acceptance Life Insurance?

No, this coverage does not require a physical medical exam or health questions.

Term Life Insurance and Permanent Life Insurance offered through the AARP Life Insurance Program from New York Life also do not require a physical medical exam, but health information you provide or allow New York Life to collect is used to determine acceptance for those products.

I’m not an AARP member, can I get a quote?

Yes. You do not need to be an AARP member to get a free quote in seconds. Membership is required for coverage, and you can quickly and easily apply online for life insurance from New York Life and join AARP at the same time.
